Avoiding Getting Scammed

One example of a scam I have seen in my personal life is scam texts I get about paying my phone bill. There have been a few times where I got these texts and for a second, got nervous about having to pay some sort of bill, but quickly realized it was a scam. The goal of these is to get people to pay a bill that isn’t real, and a scammer pockets the money. It comes in the form of a text that looks like your data provider, and looks professional, with a link to make a payment, but it is not real. Some ways to check if this is a real text, is to look and see if you are missing any payment, or just call your data provider and check with them if it is real.
